Daily Radio Bible - August 22nd, 21

What do you see? Is it your sin? Your regrets? Your past, your shame? Can you get past your past? Or is it all You see? JOHN admonishes you to see God's love for you. Regardless of all those other things he calls you, his child. What you see will determine what you are and what you become. See his love, and it will free you from your guilt, your past your regrets, from the lies that keep you stuck and afraid. Fix your eyes on him. JOHN wants you to see the God of the universe as your father. He says you are His child. And this father of yours loves you. You don't stand before a judge. You stand before your father, and you can be confident of His love whether you feel it or not. God's love for you isn't conditioned by your performance or your feelings, or how confident you are in yourself. It is founded entirely upon his character and his actions and not yours. No, your confidence is not in your own performance, piety or obedience, it is established entirely in his obedience and his character. Behold, see, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called children of God. And that is what you are. We come to the word each day and we look through all these words, through the lens of Jesus, because this will transform the way we see. So our vision can be rehabilitated, that we might see beyond the lies and into the truth of our being in him. That we are children of God. And God is our loving father. This will give us the capacity to live lives that are free and confident and able to offer this love, the love of the Father, to the world. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so
