GOD FILLS THE GAPS: 1 Chronicles 22,23,24; 1 Thessalonians 3
GOD FILLS THE GAPS
Christ fills the gaps. That’s what Paul says. In vs 10 Paul says,
Night and day we pray earnestly for you, asking God to let us see you again to fill the gaps in your faith. (I Thess 3:10 NLT)
This is the walk of discipleship, to recognize that God has filled what was absent and lacking. So much of our life, prior to walking with God, gets lost in the the gaps, in the lie of God’s absence and seperation. The lie creates all kinds of issues and problems, divisions, addictions and neurosis you name it. But our discipleship is about God filling us in those places we thought would forever be empty.
The gaps can be filled. The place of absence can be filled. Those unfinished areas in our life can be filled. But filling is a process, and faith is a walk, and the destination is Him. The one who will fill all things with himself. Yesterday we celebrated the day of ascension. The day that Jesus ascended in his resurrected human body to sit at the side of his father, having accomplished and created for us our completed life, our full life in him. Today we can walk with him, and allow the spirit to open our eyes even more to the fullness that is our in Christ.
he destination And on top of that, we tend to leak.
Christian, you are now new in Him and filled with Him. If you are in Christ, than his Spirit lives in you. But that doesn’t mean that you won’t struggle. Paul actually says that we are destined for troubles. Jesus says so too.
God fills all things everywhere with himself.
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. (Jn 16:33 NLT)
In this life you will have trouble. But God is here to meet us in those troubles and to fill us, even in the midst of them, enabling us to remain strong in faith. He is able to fill the gaps in our love for one another. And he is able to strengthen our hearts with the realization that we are blameless and holy before him.
Be encouraged today, that God fills you through His Spirit. This can become a deeper reality in your life and you can live with greater joy and greater strength, knowing that God fills the gaps. You were made to be filled. And you can receive that gift even now, even if you’re going through troubles.
Let God fill the gaps so that you might learn to love and live deeper in the reality of Christ in you.
You are loved!
