Nebuchadnezzar is troubled because he's blinded to this dream. He doesn't know what it means. He knows it's big. He knows it's disturbing. He knows it's about his life. But he doesn't understand. But Daniel shows us that only God can reveal God. Only God can remove the veil that is covering our eyes to the dream, the mystery, the Enigma that clouds our lives. Sometimes the struggle grows so deep, that we like Nebuchadnezzar lash out cry out, for wisdom, for help, to wise people, to holy books, to help us make some sense. And oftentimes, we Christians think we can simply read the Bible over and over again. And that That'll be all we need to make sense of our lives. But it doesn't. For Daniel, the Spirit of God revealed the secret. And the veil that was removed was a picture of the fury and force of kingdoms that come and go, until all things are culminated in a Rock from heaven, that strikes all these kingdoms and eclipses all things with himself. The secret is not just revealed by going to the Prophet, or to the books of the Bible. It's a part of the story, yes. But more than that, it was the Spirit of God that revealed what the king's heart longed for. And what he reveals, is a story of God. All things are resolved and unveiled in him. And in Him, we find the answers that we are looking for. So we come to the Bible, yes. But more importantly, we come to the Spirit of God. The Spirit is the one who unveils our eyes. The Spirit of God reveals God, invite Him into your questions, your struggle, and he will make himself known. For our God is the greatest of gods, the Lord over kings and the revealer of mysteries. And he is able to reveal Himself to us. And the prayer of my own heart today is that I will come to him even as we come to his word, that who he is, will be revealed to my own heart, to my wife, my daughters and my son. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so
