It's raining outside, you might hear it on the, on the metal roof to our trailer. It's beautiful. Luke tells us that his son has been given. In fact, so many sons are given, all of them are pointing to leading up to the Son, the Son of God. John the Baptist is the final harrowed, before God Himself announces that his son has finally arrived. Jesus is the second Adam. And where the first Adam failed, this Adam will not. Where the first Adam brought sorrow and death, this son will bring joy and life.
God the Father says, he's my boy, and he brings me great joy. Jesus is the Son that's going to end all that's wrong with this world. He's going to bring joy and redemption and life is going to make right all that is wrong, is going to bring about God's New Kingdom, with God's new people 77 times and Luke's genealogy we hear the phrase, the son of from Adam to Jesus, all the prophets, all of history. All of its pointing to this moment when God comes to us in the flesh.
This son will answer the questions of the crowds, and the tax collectors and the soldiers and the religious people. The people that are like you and me, the people that are crying out what do we do? What do we do about all that is wrong in us? John's answer is, look, look to the Lamb of God. He takes away the sin of the world. The Son of God, the second Adam will take away the sin of the world, and give us a life. In fact, he has done it. He's done it for you. He has reconciled the world to Himself.
So look to the Son, the one with whom God is pleased, the one who has the answer to your cry. The one who has done what needs to be done. trust in Him, walk with him. He has been given to you, to us to meet you right where you are. To answer your hearts question. So let's look to him. Let's hear his voice and follow.
That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you may be so
