TODAY'S DEVOTION:

Our message is so simple, and yet Ananias and Sapphira got that message so very wrong. The high council and religious leaders, they got the message wrong too. And that's pretty much true to form for most religion. The simple message of God is missed.

Somehow, we've gotten it so wrong. Ananias and Sapphira thought it was about getting position, influence, prominence. They wanted to manipulate the message to get something. They didn't sell their land to give; they sold their land to get. The message was all wrong. The religious leaders wanted to stop the message from being heard. They saw the message as a threat to their position, their control over the people. They got the message wrong too.

And the same goes for many of us today inside and outside the church. We often use the message as a means of manipulation and control. It's used not to give but to get. The real message is often manipulated or misunderstood and even opposed. But in today's reading, we learned that this message can't be more simple than it is. I hope you caught it. There in verse 20, an angel appears to Peter and John and tells them, "Go to the temple and give the people this message of, wait for it, life. Give the people this message of life."

Hey, world. You've been included into the life of God. Let go of these false messages. Let go of the need to manipulate and control, the need to justify yourself. Say yes to this simple message and experience life here and now. The message is life. Jesus says this in John 10:10. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. In John 4, in reference to Jesus, it says, in him was life and the life was the light of men.

That's how simple it is. It's not a power trip. It's not about prestige or prominence or political gain. It's life in him. You can't be more simple than that. Amongst the twisted manipulations of the human heart comes God's simple message of life for you and for me and for every human being that walks this planet.

It's a message as simple and sublime as you could ever hope for it to be. So don't miss it. Hear it. Receive it. Enter into this life offered to you. Awaken to the life that you have in him today, and walk with him. Participate with him. You can even begin today by simply thanking him.

Thank you for life, Lord Jesus. I will walk with you today. I'll participate with you today in your life.

And that, my friends, is the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so.

Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, dear listeners. Today is January 29th, 2025, and I am your host, Hunter—your brother and Bible reading coach. Together, we embark on day 29 of our journey through the Bible to uncover the profound truths within its pages. Today, we delve into Exodus chapters 23 and 24, Psalm 14, and Acts chapter 5.

As we explore God’s instructions to the Israelites, we witness the importance of justice, compassion, and worship, as well as the powerful presence of God in Moses' life. We are reminded of the simple yet profound message God has for us: a message of life, a message that transcends manipulation and control, and one that beckons us to walk with Him in gratitude and faith.

Join me as we navigate these scriptures, pray together, and reflect on the eternal truths that illuminate our path. Remember, my friends, the transformative power of God's Word is right here with us today. Let's embrace it. Let's begin our reading.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:

TODAY'S PRAYERS:

Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.

Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen

And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray...

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.
