Who are these people who are dressed in white? And why is John taking such careful account of every single one of them? And why do they shout with joy? John wants us to know the answer. So he asked the question in verse 15, John says, they stand in front of God's throne and serve him day and night in his temple. Who are they? They are those who once had no shelter, but now they do. They were once hungry and thirsty, but now they've been satisfied. They were scorched by the heat of the sun. But now they found shade. They were too familiar with tears and sorrow. But those tears have now been wiped away. They are the desolate ones. They are the hungry ones. They are the ones in need of God. They are us. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. For they will be satisfied. Help us to see who we really are apart from you. Oh, help us to know all that we've become because of you. Help us to experience that today. Amen.
