Journey Through Lent - Day 11

Daily Radio Bible Podcast

The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to him. All the families of the nations will bow down before him.

what a big vision that is, what a hopeful vision that is. we often don't hear that. We are much more pessimistic perhaps than god is. about the final outcome of things. This sounds like good news. And we need good news don't we?Our vision of God is often much smaller than this unfortunately We are often tempted to think that God has ignored us, belittles us, temperamental towards us. Or That he has "turned his back on us, and our cries for help.

That's not what we see in Jesus though is it?

with him we see vs.26 The poor will eat and be satisfied." He in fact says in his first sermon, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me.
He has sent me to preach good news to the poor"

God has not asking you to pretend that your suffering is small or not real.
He has heard your cries for help, and he has come to sit with you there, and reveal his heart for you. To show you how much you matter to him. The Psalmist says this in vs. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. David was looking at Isreals deliverence from Egypt, from slavery and death. The adoption of Israel as God's children.

How God made his poor people rich. And David sees that God is going to do that for "The whole earth" and the "Whole earth will return to him." when they see who he is. That "All the families of the nations will bow down before him."

Today allow the holy spirit to open your eyes to a bigger vision of who God is, and what he is doing in this world, in your world. Allow him to sit with you, and reveal to you how much you matter to him.
