Journey Through Lent - Day 42

You have been united with Christ, in his life, his death, his resurrection and ascension. This is something Christ achieved on the cross. He has made you right with himself. He has made you holy and freed you from sin. This is the glorious truth of the gospel - union with God. No separation, no distance, no division. Right now, wherever you are, you are in him. Are you on cloud nine things are going really well beyond your wildest dreams? Well, God is with you. You're united with God, regardless of your circumstances. Are you in the depths of despair? Have you utterly failed, have you shamed yourself? And are you in the darkest of places? Well, God is united Himself to you. There he is with you. In your darkest moments, God is not conditioned his relationship upon anything that you've done. your circumstances. Now God does not condition his relationship with all of humanity based on anything that we can do or achieve. So no one can boast. We all stand in the grace and the love of God. That was his plan. And that is what he is freely given to all. God has done this. And it may sound outrageous and foolish and scandalous. But it is the wisdom of God. It is him who he is. It is his love that has reached the world.
