JULY 1,  IN HIM WE HAVE MORE

Today’s readings are Isaiah 4 -5 , Psalm 115-116, and Jude 1.  We are reading from the New Living Translation.

You’re going to need more mercy, peace, and love, than you think.   Jude recognizes that all of us are going to need more of Him, to get through the gauntlet of things that this life throws at us. In vs 2 Jude says,

May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love.

And the good news is – He gives us more!  He is the source of all peace, love, and mercy.  The world is full of scoffers, grumblers, and liars.   In order to get beyond those that would come against the Faith, lies that we’ve been told, that we believe, and that we hold on to – we’re going to need more and more mercy, peace, and love.  And God has given us that and more, in Christ. And because More has been offered to us, we can build each other up in this Faith we have.  We can pray in the power of the Holy Spirit.  And we can await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring us eternal life, both in the future, and now, this very day.  When you have him, you have eternal life right now and on that day in the future.  

Friend, in him we have More.  Apart from him we have nothing. This day, receive the mercy that you absolutely need.  Receive the peace that only comes from him.  And receive the Love that has been poured out you, through him.   Live in the “more”, of Christ in you, today.  Then your life will be to the glory of God the Father.
