JUNE 1,  DRESS FOR SUCCESS

Our readings today are Proverbs 19 – 21 and Romans 13.  We are reading from the New Living Translation.

Dress for success. Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, Paul tells us.  

Let’s put on Christ.  He is our shining armor of right living.  Clothed in him, we are able to love our neighbor as ourselves and live honorable lives in this dark world.  In fact, the only way to live the Christian life is to live in Him, clothed in his presence.  Paul says elsewhere, To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Col 1:27 NIV)

So today, let’s dress for success. Put on that strong, peaceful, joyful presence of Christ. It is you shining armor.  Put it on like new clothes, knowing that you are his, and that he is all you need for all the day has in store.  Be ever mindful that His presence covers, surrounds, and cloaks you.  It is His presence that strengthens and empowers you to live the life He has for you, now.
