JUNE 6, 2018  We Need to be Filled

I need to be filled.  There are gaping holes in my life.  There are things that were never done that should have been  done, things never built, that should have been built, and things never said, that should have  been said.  I’m incomplete, unable to meet life’s demands, apart from God.  There are missing pieces. So much has been broken, and so much is missing, that I am empty and need to be filled.  I am nearly 52 years old and recognize it now, more than ever.  Paul knows what it’s like to know that he needs to be filled. Paul sees that God, in his wisdom, is revealing himself to us, in Christ.  Christ has come to fill the holes.  He has come for the incomplete ones.  He fills all things with himself.  He has come that you and I might be filled.  Ephesians 1: 8 says:

He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

He’s come to unite us, to Christ, through faith, and make us his own. As members of his church, we’ve been made full and complete.  Jesus is filling all things, everywhere with himself.  He’s filling and making new, all those empty unfinished places in our lives.  

Today, be reminded that Christ alone can fill all the places in you, that need to be filled.  It may be words of affirmation that were never spoken, or words of blessing never declared.  And it’s not only what you didn’t receive, but perhaps what you didn’t give, that you should have given; the person that you feel that you have failed to be.  Christ has come to fill all things with himself, and make all things new.  Receive this promise of Christ’s filling, today, and every day.
