TODAY'S EPISODE:

Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast. In today's episode, we have our wonderful guest, Heather, joining us for a thoughtful and spiritually illuminating journey through the scriptures. It's day 75 of our year-long exploration, and together, we'll dive into Deuteronomy chapters 30 and 31, Psalm 40, and wrap up with 1 Corinthians 1. This episode is an invitation to see Jesus as the source of our life and to gather around the warmth of God's love with people from all corners of the globe. Let the Holy Spirit illuminate the scriptures for us as we explore the depths of these passages, seeking understanding and a closer connection to Christ. Remember, we are all on this journey together, and you are loved. Let's jump in and be enriched by the Word today.

TODAY'S DEVOTION:

What seems foolish and ineffective to the world is Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross. He is the spotless lamb of God, the perfect atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world. His sacrifice was not carried out when we were honoring Him, but when we were at our most rebellious. In the darkest moments, when we were at odds with God, He chose to unite Himself to us. His death bridges the chasm of our sin, inviting us into a reconciled relationship. The truth of His union with us when we were at our lowest is a testament to His love and grace.

The only remaining step is for us to trust in this truth, trust in His ultimate sacrifice. For the world, this act may seem weak or foolish, but for those of us being saved, it becomes the bedrock of our life and hope. Christ’s union with you is completed; now, it is time to awaken to this new reality. Embrace the freedom derived from His forgiveness. Be His witnesses in this world, embodying the all-giving, forgiving, and co-suffering love of Jesus. Christ has united Himself to us, and in this unity, we are called to be His hands and feet.

The world finds wisdom in power and intellect, but God uses what the world deems foolish and weak to reveal His strength. Through His sacrifice, we find our true identity and purpose as redeemed and reconciled citizens of His kingdom. May we grasp and share this profound truth, living as ambassadors of the life Christ has made available to us. Stepping into this abundant life is an ongoing transformation, a journey toward embodying the love and freedom afforded to us by Christ Himself.

That's a prayer that I have for my own soul. That's a prayer that I have for my friends, for my family. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so.

TODAY'S PRAYERS:

Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.

Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen

And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray...

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.
