Paul ends his reading by saying that the kingdom of God is not about pretentious power. Now, these are earmarks of empires, they are evidences of individuals trying to build their own empires, religious or otherwise. The earmarks of God's kingdom is not pretentious at all. And they look nothing like the arrogant empires of human history. Christ's comes humble. riding on a donkey's colt, he wears a crown of thorns, and he's crucified and defeated in the end. So they think. No pretense here just love, love for his enemies. Love for all. The power of God's kingdom is not found in our winning ways. And our powers of persuasion. No, the power of God's kingdom is in God's self giving, radically forgiving, co suffering love. Today, let's allow the Lamb of God to lead us deeper into His kingdom life. Let's rid ourselves of all pretense and follow Him into life. Real Life, Kingdom life, eternal life, where we learn the ways of the kingdom. The self giving, radically forgiving, co suffering ways of God. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's a prayer that I have for my family for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May be so
You are loved!
