MAY 7, Spilled Water Gathered Up
Today’s readings are II Samuel 13-14 and Matthew 24. We are reading from the New Living Translation.
Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again.
These are the wise words of the woman of Tekoa. She goes on to say:
But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him. (II Samuel 14:14 NLT)
Wasted water. That’s what she says our life can be. But God has devised a way to transform wasted water into life-giving water. God has made a way for this through a King that is far greater than David. Our King Jesus knows how to gather up water that was once spilled. He can take our spilled bitter water and exchange it for his life-giving water. That’s what he’s done for us in the Gospel
Look to Him. Let Him exchange your bitter water for His life-giving water.
You are loved!
